Children’s Garden Play Yard

The Children’s Garden is a special place in Portland where kids can play and learn. The school had a small space to work with, but, along with our design partners Learning Landscapes! Together we created a playscape with natural materials, fun activities, and lots of things to touch and explore. There’s a hill for running, rolling, and crawling, a boulder mound, and a log climber. Kids love the A-frame climber, and the space underneath is perfect for quiet play.

There are weaving walls that make the area feel cozy, and a living willow dome near a water pump and play tables. The play tables can hold water or other fun sensory materials. There’s also a special sensory house with lots of textures to explore. Grasstains and Learning Landscapes made sure the play area is perfect for physical activities, imaginative play, and sensory experiences.
